Your liver’s impact on your mental health

In Chinese Medicine each organ had its own function and affect on out mental health. The liver is responsible for keeping the smooth flow of Qi and blood. Thus, allowing there to be more circulation in the body to prevent any build up of tension. If the liver isn’t functioning properly it can lead to stagnation (blockage) causing tension to arise and build up. This also results in causing not only emotional stress but physical stress.

Acupressure Points for Stress

How does Acupressure Work?

Acupressure is the same concept of Acupuncture but just without the needles. In Traditional Chinese Medicine our body has energy flowing within these invisible pathways connecting to all of our organs. These are known as meridians. Within these meridians is our Qi (energy/life force) flowing from each pathway. When the movement is obstructed or diminished that is when pain and other aliments arise. With applying pressure to a certain point it can help relieve the obstruction and help with the flow of our Qi. Click here to read more…

“Researchers analyzed the results of three previously published trials and found that acupressure (using finger pressure or an acupressure wristband) decreased nausea, vomiting, and retching.” Click here to read more…

A very commonly used point on the Liver channel is LV 3. Since the livers responsibility is to promote the flow of Qi this specific point helps to pull the Qi down from the head helping to alleviate headaches and migraines.

Sp 6 is a great point in aiding with symptoms of multiple organs since this point is a crossing point of 3 major meridians in the body the Spleen, Liver, and Kidney. This point is also known for relieving stress, anxiety, and sleep difficulties.
