FINDING RELIEF: A REAL PATIENT STORY AT OUR PASADENA CLINIC
Are you searching for an acupuncturist in Pasadena to address chronic pain and other health concerns? At our clinic, we believe in providing personalized care that addresses the root cause of your discomfort. Today, we’re sharing a success story and a case study that highlights the power of acupuncture and Chinese medicine in improving men’s health and overall well-being.
OUR PATIENT'S JOURNEY TO PAIN RELIEF AND IMPROVED WELL-BEING
Meet our 45-year-old patient, an active runner who came to us seeking relief from a combination of debilitating issues: chronic low back pain, neck and shoulder stiffness, and premature ejaculation. He had a history of L5-S1 disc herniation, treated with surgery in 2007, and struggled with persistent pain, especially after running. He also experienced numbness in his right leg and pinky toe, tight neck and shoulders (especially on the right side), GI issues worsened by stress, and premature ejaculation.
He came in for his initial consultation and acupuncture treatment on 1/2/25 and his initial pain level was a 5/10, with significant discomfort in his low back, neck, and shoulders. He had been relying on CBD cream and ibuprofen, but experienced a severe flare-up on 12/25/24, leaving him nearly immobile for 3 days.
OUR TREATMENT APPROACH: ACUPUNCTURE FOR HOLISTIC HEALING
We developed a treatment plan involving
10 acupuncture sessions, initially twice a week for three weeks, followed by weekly sessions for four weeks for:
- Acupuncture for Low Back Pain and Neck Pain: Our “acupuncture for low back pain” and “acupuncture for neck pain” treatments focused on releasing muscle tension, improving circulation, and promoting the body’s natural healing response. We targeted specific acupoints to address his chronic pain and stiffness.
- Men’s Health and Premature Ejaculation: We incorporated acupuncture points known to support men’s health and address premature ejaculation.
- Addressing the Root Cause: We also considered his GI issues, recognizing the link between stress and digestive health.
Progress and Results:
By the second session (1/7/25), his low back pain decreased to a 3/10, and he noticed a 10% improvement in premature ejaculation.
By the third session 1/14/25, neck and back pain were both at 3/10, and premature ejaculation improved by 30-40%.
By the 5th session 1/29/25, he was able to exercise without low back pain, experiencing only slight discomfort (2/10). His bowel movements also improved.
By the 7th session 2/4/25, he reported no low back pain, occasional neck pain (2/10), and a 60% improvement in premature ejaculation, which he noted was influenced by sleep and stress.
He was very happy with his results, and we are developing a maintenance schedule to ensure continued well-being.
ACUPUNCTURE FOR PAIN RELIEF: HOW IT WORKS
Acupuncture, a cornerstone of traditional Chinese medicine, involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body. This stimulates the nervous system, releasing endorphins, the body’s natural pain relievers. It also improves blood flow, reduces inflammation, and promotes relaxation. This is why many seek a “pain specialist” that offers acupuncture.
Acupuncture is effective for chronic pain anywhere on the body, not just neck and shoulder pain. For more information, click this link to read our other blog post about acupuncture and pain relief.
