Choosing Your Ideal Detox Program
As your acupuncturist in Pasadena, I’m always exploring ways to help you achieve optimal physical and emotional well-being. That often means venturing beyond traditional acupuncture treatments and delving into holistic approaches like detoxification and fasting. But with so much buzz around these practices, it can be hard to know where to start. Today, I’m sharing my honest review of two popular detox programs: Standard Process’s Purification Programs and Prolon’s 5-day fasting protocol.
As you all know, I am an avid fan of Standard Process’s 10-day, 21-day, and 28-day programs, which utilize whole-food nutrition to fuel your body and encourage gentle detoxification of the kidneys, liver, and colon.

This program is all about cellular-level rejuvenation through fasting. What’s nice is you do not have to plan any meals while doing the Prolon program. They provide you with pre-portioned meals for five days, minimizing prep and maximizing metabolic impact.
If weight loss is your goal, Prolon might be a better fit, as it can jumpstart your system like no other. But even beyond the pounds, the potential anti-aging and cellular cleanup benefits are fascinating!

My Personal Journey:
Hearing my patients rave about Prolon’s benefits, especially improved mental clarity and digestion, piqued my curiosity. After doing some research, I embarked on a personal exploration of intermittent fasting. I eventually built my way up to doing 24-hour water fasts once a month, then took the plunge into Prolon. The Prolon experience was eye-opening! While the first few days weren’t easy, pushing through the hunger led to a surge of energy, mental clarity, and a sense of empowerment I’d never felt before.
