Feeling stressed out? Try ear seeds!

Ear seeds are small seeds we are using to stimulate pressure points in your ear, which is known as acupressure. It’s based on the same general principles as acupuncture. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), your health is dependent on the flow of  qi (energy) in your body. This energy travels along invisible pathways, known as meridians. We place ear seeds on certain points, usually along meridian lines, to help you clear up any qi blockages. In TCM, resolving these blockages can help you with a variety of health conditions (including stress and anxiety!).

Your Ear is a microsystem of your entire body

The ear is a tiny map for the whole body.  Hundreds of acupuncture points in the ear correspond to just about every organ, hormone and system in the body.   Here are two of our favorite points:

  • Shen Men is the Spirit Gate or Neurogate. Pressure on this point calms an overactive mind. This point is also powerful in treating pain and tension all over the body. This point can also combat low energy or sluggish thinking.
  • Point Zero is the ear center or Solar Plexus.  Pressure on this point supports good digestion and organ function. This point is commonly used to balance hormones and treat disruptions in neural integration (ADD/ADHD, PTSD, OCD, stuttering, dyslexia).

We offer ear seed treatments at our office with a licensed acupuncturist who can better diagnose your issues and locate the most effective acupressure points to target your specific health concern for $55.

We offer a discounted price when ear seeds are added to an acupuncture appointment. Prices for ear seeds start at $10, go up to $15 for gold or silver, and $25 for Swarovski options. Sometimes the acupressure point locations can be difficult to locate yourself! However, you can get some great earseed kits you can attempt at home, and the cost varies depending on the type of seeds that you choose.
