Gua Sha can help treat aches and pains throughout the body, but it has also been used for thousands of years for such conditions such as headaches, cough, the common cold, flu, allergies, PMS symptoms, and to boost immunity. The areas that are treated with Gua Sha differs depending on the symptom that the practitioner is treating. The general principle of Gua Sha can be applied when scraping only on the areas where there are knots, aches, and pains. This increases circulation and decreases inflammation in that area. However, Gua Sha can also be applied to different areas of the body to treat various other symptoms.

One of the most commonly treated areas is the upper neck and the shoulders. This area is extremely effective at treating cold symptoms such as coughing and headaches. Scraping this area with a Gua Sha tool can also be effective at relieving an oncoming fever as well as for those dealing with seasonal allergies. Another area that can be incredibly effective to scrape is the outer and inner heel next to the Achilles tendon which correlates to the ovaries and testes. This is a great practice to incorporate for those who suffer from PMS symptoms or prostate issues.
