Summer is here! Due to this our skin will start changing just like the weather.  We’re tackling the topic of summer heat. Providing holistic advice that will help you cope with the changing of seasons, in all aspects of your lifestyle.  Today we are starting from the outside in. Thus, introducing some key players to look out for in the ingredients list of any skin-soothing product. That you can apply this hot summer season.

Mo Yao (Myrrh) – This herbs main function is to move the blood and relieve pain.  It’s ability to move the blood makes it a great herb to use for any inflammation symptoms. Such as: ulceration, sores, or skin lesions.  Mo Yao is also easily found in several topical creams thus making it a great ingredient to look out for.

Tea Tree – is quickly becoming a household name in its own right due to its versatility at treating a variety of skin issues and ailments.  Tea Tree is especially useful during summer months due to its antiseptic, antifungal, antiviral, and antimicrobial properties. This allows it to not only treat any inflammation on the skin, but also bug bites, fungal infections, or even acne that may all be triggered by the change in seasons. Tea Tree is especially great at combatting these skin issues as their root is in dampness accumulation. In the skin, tea tree combats dampness from a Chinese Medicine perspective.

Bing Pian (Borneolum)- is most commonly used for hot or irritated skin. Much like the more commonly known aloe vera plant.  It is also very anti-inflammatory and is also great at treating sores and any heat-related skin condition.
